Golden Honey Cake
As it's name suggests, this classic cake is a beautiful golden colour through and through and when taken from the oven, the aroma of honey is absolutely amazing.


4 oz butter or margarine
4 oz caster sugar
3 eggs
4 oz liquid honey
8 oz self raising flour
pinch salt
milk to mix


Line 7" round tin with greased greaseproof paper.

Cream butter or margarine with caster sugar until light and fluffy.

Gradually beat in whisked eggs and honey with a little sifted flour and salt.

Fold in remaining flour.

Add sufficient milk to make soft dropping consistency.

Turn into prepared tin.

Bake in centre of moderate oven 350F Mark 4 for about 1 hour.
